God is At Work
So far, we have ministered especially young students, athletes and families using many of the tools that AGAPE has provided us. God has blessed us, we've seen His hands in many ministry opportunies we had. However, we are praying that He will enable us and guide us to many more things He has in store for us in the near future. Greece is a special place and Greek people have specialspiritual needs. We ask from the Lord to use us in a special, creative and inspired way so we will be able to reach our countrymen, and not only, with the Good News of the Gospel.
Ministries in Greece
Student Ministries - Challenging Greece's 400,000 students on the 27 campuses with Biblical truth, is still our target . Our main campus ministry is in Thessaloniki at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with 85,000 students (the largest in all of the Balkan countries).
NEEDS: Staff and volunteers in Athens’ campus. There is no ministry presence on this Level 1 campus. Also STINTers (Short Term International personnel) for Athens and other campuses.
Family - Improving the quality of the family life with Biblical principles through biannual marriage conferences, semninars, "Homebuilders" study groups and counseling for couples and singles. There is also, the ministry of parenting, leadership training and publishing practical materials. We believe that through God's grace we can become the "Repairers of Broken walls and the Restorers of Streets with Dwellings."
Athletes In Action - In Greece sports, especially soccer, are very popular. So mainly through tournaments and friendly games we are sharing the Gospel.
Baseball is a big challenge for us. The only baseball field in Northern Greece belongs to Agape Greece and we pray that this field will be a grate opportunity to witness to many young people in our area. Organizing sport clinics is another way to reach people. It’s also great because we can work with the churches do cooperative evangelism.
Media - The national office is constantly developing materials - either translations of existing publications or developing new literature for ministry use or local churches.
JESUS Film Project - Getting the Gospel of Luke into people's homes. Available in Greek translation on Video, on DVD, audio CD and radio format . The JESUS Film is an effective tool in Greek culture and has been televised at Easter with a positive response. We need film teams
